Welcome

On behalf of our staff and board, the Washington Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs welcomes all potential clients and volunteers, firms, lawyers and other supporters to this website.

The Committee is extremely proud of its long tradition of providing high quality pro bono legal services to those in our community confronting civil rights and poverty issues, and most grateful for the extensive volunteer and financial support provided for over 40 years by hundreds of leading lawyers and law firms in our city.

Today the Committee is handling the most extensive and far reaching docket in its history and looking forward to expanded collaboration with federal civil rights agencies. Our areas of service encompass virtually every class of individuals protected by our federal, state and local civil rights laws.

We encourage those in need of representation to contact us, and we invite all law firms and lawyers who share our commitment to equal justice to join in working with our staff on future cases and projects. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions about the Committee’s programs or need more information about how we might assist you.

Sincerely,

Roderic V.O. Boggs
