Social Security Administration Settles to Make Check-In Kiosks Accessible to the Blind

Blind visitors to the Social Security Administration will now be able to enter personal information, such as their Social Security number, with complete privacy. On behalf of the National Federation of the Blind and two blind individuals, the Committee along with Disability Rights California and Brown, Goldstein & Levy LLP settled with the SSA to make check-in kiosks fully accessible to the blind.

Native American Senior Civil Rights Official Wins $200,000 after Retaliation

Jody TallBear, a Native American attorney at the Department of Energy, was retaliated against after raising concerns about the use of the Washington professional football team’s name and mascot in the work place. In partnership with Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP, the Committee represented Ms. TallBear, reaching a $200,000 settlement with the DOE.
