Rochelle Jones joined the Washington Lawyers’ Committee staff in 1996 as director of finance and administration. Ms. Jones assumed the position of chief financial officer in 2001. As CFO she is responsible for the finance and budgeting functions of the organization.

Ms. Jones has more than 30 years of finance experience including 10 years of public accounting experience with the firm Bert W. Smith, Jr. and Company, Chartered where she was a Senior Auditor.  As a senior auditor, Ms. Jones worked on financial and compliance audits for government and nonprofit organizations and was a deputy project director on a contract with the Department of Labor.  Ms. Jones was controller for Urban Shelters and Health Care Systems and an accounting consultant to small nonprofit agencies in the District of Columbia.
