Workers’ Rights Clinic

The Washington Lawyers’ Committee has an exciting pro bono and volunteer opportunity in our Workers’ Rights Clinics for attorneys, non-attorneys, new associates, experienced practitioners, or persons looking for time limited or long-term commitment. Each week, we conduct clinics for low-waged workers. At the clinics we provide advice, brief serves, and screen cases for referrals or systemic litigation.

Individuals may get involved as intake volunteers or advising attorney volunteers. Details for each position are listed below.

Intake volunteers conduct direct intakes with local workers facing issues in their workplace and deliver advice verbally after meeting with an advising attorney. No prior experience is necessary. To volunteer as an intake volunteer, you can schedule an initial training using the link below:

Advising attorney volunteers work with intake volunteers to provide workers with high-quality legal advice on a range of employment issues. Advising attorneys must be barred in DC, MD, or VA, and have a minimum of three years of experience in employment law. To become an advising attorney, please fill out the following form:
