The Committee’s Bake Sale Raises Thousands for DC Public Schools

WASHINGTON — The aroma of baked delicacies wafted throughout Downtown DC when law firms competed in the Washington Lawyers’ Committee’s 14th Annual Cooking for Kids Bake Sale and Taste-Off competition, on Monday, March 10.

This year’s Bake Sale and Taste-Off competition raised $9,067 to support academic enrichment activities for students at D.C. public schools throughout the city, including those in educational partnerships with law firms participating in the Committee’s D.C. Public School Partnership Program. The Program, which provides tutoring, mentoring and other supportive services for more than 10,000 D.C. public school students annually at more than 45 D.C. public schools, is one of several Projects of the Washington Lawyers’ Committee.
