Laura Graham joined the Washington Lawyers’ Committee in September 2022 as Associate Counsel. She works on cases challenging police misconduct and unconstitutional prison conditions.

Prior to joining WLC, Laura was a public defender in Prince William County, Virginia, where she represented indigent clients facing misdemeanor and felony charges. In law school, Laura spent two years with the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau where she defended tenants facing eviction and worked with community organizers to combat displacement in Boston. She spent her law school summers interning with the Juvenile Unit of the San Francisco Public Defenders’ Office and the Prisoners’ Rights Office of the Vermont Defender General. Before law school, Laura was a litigation assistant at the Prison Law Office where she assisted with class action lawsuits against prisons and jails.
