A Record-Breaking Year for the Wiley A. Branton Awards

On May 27, 2026, more than 550 supporters gathered for the Washington Lawyers’ Committee’s Wiley A. Branton Awards Luncheon to celebrate the individuals and organizations advancing civil rights and equal justice—and to invest in the work ahead.

Together, our community raised a record-breaking $1,625,000 to support the Washington Lawyers’ Committee’s efforts to protect civil rights, defend vulnerable communities, and uphold the rule of law.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who attended, sponsored, donated, volunteered, and supported this year’s event. Your commitment makes our work possible.

Why This Moment Matters

Coming together to celebrate and promote civil rights is especially important at a time when civil rights protections are being challenged and tested across the country. The Branton Awards remind us that progress is possible when communities, advocates, volunteers, and pro bono partners work together in pursuit of justice.

Every case we litigate, every community we serve, and every victory we achieve is strengthened by the support of people who believe in equal justice under law.
