Daniel A. Katz

Senior Staff Attorney

Daniel A. Katz serves as Senior Staff Attorney for employment justice issues. He joined the Committee in January 2018 with over 20 years of experience representing plaintiffs in wage and hour and employment discrimination disputes. Mr. Katz supervises the workers’ rights clinics and litigates claims on behalf of victims of wage theft and discrimination.

Mr. Katz has represented clients every federal and state court in Maryland and the District of Columbia, including both trial courts and appellate courts, as well as before administrative bodies. He regularly provides pro bono assistance to employment law attorneys at non-profit agencies, including the Public Justice Center (Baltimore, Maryland), the Maryland Legal Aid Bureau, the Woman’s Law Center of Maryland, and the Sexual Assault Legal Institute. He was a founding director of the District of Columbia Employment Justice Center, which merged into the Washington Lawyers’ Committee in 2017. Mr. Katz speaks Spanish fluently and frequently represents non-English speaking clients. Mr. Katz frequently presents at continuing legal education seminars on litigating claims under wage and hour laws and the representation of immigrants.
