Catherine Cone

Staff Attorney, Fair Housing Project

CatherineeditedphotoCatherine Cone joined the Committee as a staff attorney in January 2015.

During law school, Catherine interned at Cohen Milstein’s Civil Rights and Employment practice group and the American Federation of Government Employees Women’s and Fair Practices Department where she focused on employment discrimination issues.  In 2012, she served as a judicial intern for Chief Judge Eric T. Washington at the District of Columbia Court of Appeals.

Catherine was a member of the American University Law Review and a Dean’s Fellow to Juan E. Méndez, Professor of Human Rights Law and United Nations Special Rapporteur on Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman and Degrading Treatment or Punishment. She also founded ADVANCE, a mentoring program for first-generation law students.  Following graduation in 2013, Catherine clerked for the Honorable Anna Blackburne-Rigsby, Associate Judge for the District of Columbia Court of Appeals.

Prior to law school, Catherine worked in various public interest and fundraising positions in Washington, DC and New York City.

She is an active member of the Hispanic Bar Association of the District of Columbia and the Latino/Latina Law Students’ Alumni Association of the Washington College of Law.
